Writing out Exercise
If you are worried, confused, anxious, depressed or display any other emotional imbalances you may want to do the fifteen-minute writing out exercise. This is how you can proceed.
Sit down at a table, with pen or pencil and paper. Make sure you will not be disturbed in any way. Put on a timer for exactly 15 minutes. Now allow yourself to write down rapidly everything that comes through no matter how horrible it may be. Do not think and do not re-read. Simply let it all flow out on the paper. At the end of 15 minutes stop immediately, even if your sentence is not finished. Do not re-read what you have written. This is important because otherwise you re-program the mind with that which it has just released. Simply destroy the paper, preferably by burning it.
Although this exercise can be done every time you feel an emotional imbalance, it is best not to do it more than once a day. Fifteen minutes is the maximum time suggested. There is no minimum time.
