Earth School

Have you ever considered the possibility, that in one of your more ‘enlightened’ moments, you willingly chose to attend Earth School? That you being here at this precise time is part of your blueprint? …and that you have a unique and important role to play in the Great Awakening that is unfolding right now?

The reality is, that our dear blue planet earth, with its extreme duality, is the most prestigious sought out classroom in this part of the universe. We are privileged to be here at this unique time in the history of humanity where every man, woman and child is being lifted into frequencies of Higher Consciousness beyond anything humanity has ever experienced. Where our choices to create change with a positive focus and right efforts, will be successful. It may take some people too great a stretch of the imagination to entertain such an idea, but I think that most readers here have already or are about to open their minds and hearts to such a reality.

Everything is always in Divine Order and that is our good fortune since we are functioning at best with selective memories of our past and a great deal of faith. As we collectively start to awaken to the knowledge of who we are, our reality shifts beyond that of our immediate personal lives, to encompass glimpses of the ‘Bigger Plan’. Once we realize that we orchestrate our lives through our radiation (refer to “Transparency” text), we accept that all the people, situations and events that we attract in our lives are our own creations; these are teaching and learning opportunities to move us beyond our presents dysfunctional living patterns, routines, habits and beliefs. Unfortunate but true, humanity is dysfunctional…who else has created the mess this world is in? On the other hand, we have free will and the power to choose and create change.

Paramahansa Yogananda, a beloved teacher, once said it well when he compared life to going to the movies. He would say, ‘a good movie is a good movie, whether it’s a drama, a comedy, a suspense or a horror movie’. From this we can understand that, through the joy, the tears, the love and the frustration and all the ups and downs of the ‘movie’ of daily existence, we can learn to watch all of life like a ‘movie’ by being present in the moment. From this centered, grounded, detached and empowered state of ‘Being’, rather than loosing ourself in the ‘movie’ of life by giving our power away right left and center, we learn to ‘effortlessly’ transmute and create change for the positive with the simple Loving radiation of our Creative Divine Presence. It is a learning process, that does not happen over night, but eventually, and at first even if only in retrospect, we gradually accept that we are responsible for ourselves, that we are co-creators and that there is no longer any room for blame in our lives. We also come to realize that most often those that seemed to hurt us the most in the past, were our greatest teachers, and that from them we are learning the most important lessons of Life, lessons of detachment, forgiveness, gratitude and unconditional love. Then for some, the next step in committing to re-creating their lives, is breaking the pattern and changing their beliefs about the idea of school itself. Too many belief systems, patterns, routines and habits keep us in the past and stunt our growth and expansion as divine beings. The only limitations are the ones you place on yourself. Lets be honest, everyone has to do their own work, no one can do it for you. Workshops, therapies, gatherings, channelings are tools that can be very helpful in facilitating and confirming steps on the journey, but the bottom line is that each individual has to put in the concerted effort to do the homework and practice, until it becomes second nature. As I tell all my students after a session, “This is your new baseline, now your work begins.”

It takes awareness, willpower and commitment to learn our lessons,…undisturbed. When we realize that the same lesson will come back over and over again , more often than not with more intensity, until we “get it”, it seems a wise move to immediately choose not to get wound up in the next drama of the day. I am not advocating repressing emotions, but choosing to opt off the emotional roller coaster ride, by cultivating daily (especially when first waking in the morning) contact with the divine within. The feeling and power, evoked by such a contact then become your core vibration / consciousness and precious baseline of the day, that from which you live. As your emotional and mental bodies stabilize, your reality reflects your choice to watch the movie, learn your lessons and remain undisturbed. You have then moved to the next level of commitment and towards Mastery.

As we expand our horizons far beyond our small personal lives into greater visions encompassing the whole of humanity, other universes and the cosmos, we accept that we all have an important role to play in this great symphony of life. We learn to cultivate and nourish this contact with God/Higher Self/I AM Presence/Source/Creator/Spirit and we also learn to obey this guidance. We are dearly loved and being guided at every moment, yet without the training in awareness to recognize these promptings to action/service, we submit to the will of the little self and create our reality. How often have you said “I knew I should have done that!”…but didn’t follow through at the time? As our faith grows we learn to listen to our gut feeling, which is the still and small voice of our Higher Self which actually is the very first answer to our questions, rather than acting on the second and louder response to our questions that often comes through on a louder note and feeds our ego. So we learn to serve this higher consciousness we call God/Divine, as we aspire to return back to our existence as conscious embodiments of Light and Love.

We are presented with every opportunity and choice to experience and create our individual lives and reality. We can choose as many detours as we want, but ultimately Soul returns to Source. It all comes down to choice, courage, determination, commitment and willpower to taking the appropriate action to walking our talk and to transparency, the first steps towards Mastery.

So why did we choose to attend earth school???

In my perspective, to learn our lessons, for service, to become the Master we were intended to be and to return back to Source.
